1.1996 Big East Championship UConn vs Georgetown
One of my all-time favorite college basketball games. If the Thunder game wasn’t on I would be watching this game. I was talking about this game with my best friend Jesse the other day on how Ray Allen just barely got this shot off. The funny thing is AI got a good look on the other end and the Junkyard Dog missed a bunny of a layup at the end, but this game was like something out of a movie how it ended.

Top March Madness Moments #2
2. Langston University Men’s and Women’s Basketball going to the NAIA Tournament in 2003 and 2004.
One of my favorite moments in college was writing for the school newspaper. I had a great experience with traveling to Jackson, TN and Kansas City, MO to cover the Langston Lady Lions third appearance and the Langston Lions first appearance in the NAIA Tournament. It was the first time seeing the madness of March up close.
The one mistake I made when covering the games was I got caught up in being a fan instead of a journalist. I let my emotions get the best of me in both games.
The women’s game was a primetime game played in front of a home crowd. We had the Langston Band at the game, but the Union team was just too strong down the stretch.
The men’s game our team was outmatched by a team of D-1 reject for Robert Morris. They had at least 5 players who were 6-7.
I still have my print copies of both stories, along with the audio from both interviews with Coach Drain and Coach Webb.

#3 North Carolina vs Georgetown—1982 National Championship
The greatest of all time makes the game winning shot to beat Georgetown. Its funny after watching this game to see Georgetown give North Carolina at least ten points off of Patrick Ewing’s goaltending calls. Fred Brown committed the Roscoe Smith/Chris Webber play of the year when he pass the ball to James Worthy late in the game giving the Tar Heels a chance to seal the game. It was a great contest between two powerhouse programs.
